I wrote to DWP on 4th June requesting the mandatory reconsideration. Today I rang them to find out whether they had my letter as four weeks had passed without even an acknowledgement. I was informed that they received the letter on 6th June but they had failed to register it on the system. Therefore it hadn't been passed to the department that carries out the reconsiderations. I was assured it would be registered today. So, the six weeks I have to wait for a response starts today, instead of a month ago. Is this fair? Is there anything I can do?
