HAVE I BEEN SENT DECISION ON MY ESA RE-ASSESSMENT?

Hi,

I have been waiting on a letter for an ESA medical assessment after my form was returned.

I have received a letter from Jobcentre plus saying that there is a change in the ESA rate payable; they have looked at my claim again following a recent change and I now have an increase in my ESA amount.
The letter states:
" This is because of:
a decision on your capability for work. You have been placed in the Support Group.
You meet the eligibility criteria foe Support Group......." etc.

Please could advise me if this is a Decision Letter about my ESA re-assessment, or is it about a change in the rates paid for ESA ( I was in the SG prior to the assessment)?

Am I still waiting on medical assessment and dwp decision maker to send a letter?
I am not sure what to think and would really appreciate your advice on where I stand at the moment and what I need to do next.

Regards

Am I still waiting to be called for medical assessment?

It sounds like a Decision Letter but the ESA letter are so poorly worded that I can't state it is for certain. This is not the time of year where I would expect any other letters for your ESA to be issued.

I'm afraid all I can suggest is that you contact the DWP office dealing with your claim next week if you are unhappy calling them then ring Maximus, they can tell you whether they have returned your file without the need for a face to face.

Hi,

The form was sent out originally with a covering letter from" Centre for Health Assessment "
( or something like that). Would that be the place/phone number to contact to ask if I'm still to be called for medical assessment?

Would it be better to contact dwp to find out what it means? Would this cause me problems?

If it is a decision letter, would it be worth asking for a copy of the reasons for the decision
(Who would I ask)? The letter states that I can ask for an explanation of the decision
, a written statement of reasons etc., but I don't want to assume anything at this point.

Thanks for your help.
Regards.

Maximus has a lot of names, the Centre for Health and Disability Assessment (CHDA) and the Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS)

Contacting the DWP won't have any impact on your claim. You can ask for the Decision Makers reasons but it's unlikely that you will get them, you would be better asking for a copy of the assessment report (ESA85A).
