My wife just missed out on making a pip application as she had recently turned 65, but I am wondering if there is a possibility of applying for an exemption? She was given a verbal diagnosis of a life ending illness on 13th May. Her 65th birthday was on 28th May. She received the clinical diagnosis by letter on 4th June. I was told she had missed out on pip so she applied for Attendance Allowance instead and now receives that.

I'm afraid there are no exemptions to the "age" rule.
