Hi , i keep reading conflicting news items about a possible rebate on the transition from incapacity to contribution based ESA, how do we find out if i qualify ? very confusing ? many thanks.

To receive any back payments you will need to have been eligible for Income Related ESA at the time. ESA(IR) is dependant on your household income, your savings and assets, and any hours that your partner works. See

24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)
The DWP will be contacting all claimants who may be eligible but there are 10,000s of claims to be checked.

If you were put in the Support Group on transfer then you will likely qualify.
