Phone call from DWP after tribunal appeal received was created by ela67
Hello
I received a letter last week that my appeal will go ahead at tribunal. They have told DWP I'm appealing and have asked them to respond to my claim. I got 3 missed calls today from DWP (my husband answered one of them) Would there be an obvious reason why they would contact me at this stage? I'd prefer not to speak to them on the phone but would like to be prepared.
Thanks very much
Ela

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

It is possible that they are looking to offer you an increased award, we do sometimes see this when they receive the Appeal request.
They will only ring three times so if you want to find out if this has happened then you or your husband will need to ring the office dealing with your claim.

Thank you Gordon, I had heard that was a possibility.
If it was the case they were going to offer an increased award, will this still be offered if I missed them on the phone, ie will they then send a letter out with a new award, or will it continue to tribunal instead?
Thanks again

Based on what we have seen on the forum, if there is an offer then it will not be made in writing unless it matches what you have stated you think you should have received in your appeal, so you really need to speak to them about it.
