How long should a F2F last? was created by fastmoggy

Hi, on average , how long should a F2F visit last?
Just been looking through all the paper work and noticed the length of the consultation was reported as 45 minutes.
I noted that the actual question and answer session only lasted about 36 minutes so was surprised and relieved the ordeal was over but the hcp stayed chatting whilst packing up their laptop, bits and bobs for about 10 minutes.
Now I wondering ,was this 'chatting' was still part of the F2F to gather extra information or add to what was said at the interview.

We always try to warn members that their assessment starts from when they leave home until they are back again, or ar are at least out of sight of the Assessment Providers offices.

The time for an assessment varies, one hour is probably average but times that are considerably shorter or longer are not uncommon.
