FINDING REPRESENTATION FOR PIP TRIBUNAL was created by ELE1
I was wondering if anyone can help. My "other half" has a PIP tribunal in less than 10 days.
We have been unable to find a medical representative to accompany him. It seems that the CAB do not have the manpower to help due to high demand.
Has anyone got any ideas? Is a representative necessary and can we find one at this late date.
Any help would be most welcome

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
I'm afraid I think it very unlikely that you will find anyone to assist you at this later stage but try doing an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county, you could also try any charities that specialise in their conditions.
Most appeals are held without a Representative and the success rate is over 71%.
There will be three members of the panel, a Judge or solicitor, a doctor and a layperson with experience of disability issues.
The questions will mostly come from the doctor.
They will be asking about how and why your partner meets the criteria for an award of PIP so make sure they understand the Descriptors that they are hoping to meet.
I would go through our PIP Claim guide, your partners claim form and the assessment report to understand the issues that will likely be raised.
