I was wondering what the rules are on extra income if claiming ESA. I don't mean earned income (I don't think) but for example : IF... I sell a piece of my own jewellery I have had several years, on Ebay and get £50. I sell several postcards I have had since childhood. They range from 50p to £3. I paint a picture at an occupational therapy group. . The materials cost me £10. I sell it for £10. My mother gives me the odd £20.
You can sell your possessions without issue but if you earn income from items that you have purchased with the intent of selling them, either in their original form or as a result of your creating something like a picture then this would likely be treated as income and you will need to declare it to the DWP.
