Many apologies for my Mr Thicko Gordon but I am not sure what you mean.

Are you saying that even if the new assessment goes in my favour that the DWP will date this "award" from the date of the new assessment and not from the original way back in April?

And if the assessment goes against me then that will just reinforce the DWP case at Tribunal?

I do not get the impression from ATOS/DWP that I have any choice whatsoever in the matter.

A brief look at the Forum topis suggests that more people are recording their assessment. Do you have any information as to teh relative success of this approach? I can certainly see the benefit for MR/Appeal?

Any revised Decision that the DWP might make, with or without a new assessment will apply from the date of the original one.

A second failed assessment will reinforce the DWP's case that you not qualify for an award but this is not necessarily fatal to your appeal, their reasons may be the same as the first assessor and just as invalid.

Based on what we have seen in the forum, recording an assessment is unlikely to make any difference to the quality of the report that is produced but it is still worth doing if only to have an accurate record of what happened.
