DWP PIP Fiasco was created by Peeved
After being on DLA for many years I finally received that dreaded letter, the invitation to claim PIP. That’s when the fiasco started. I completed the form using the guides and sent it in well within the time limit. A few weeks later DWP called me to query something but the following month closed my DLA claim as I ‘had not returned my PIP application’.

I eventually sorted that out and was invited to a medical where the farce continued. The HP failed to record falls, injuries I suffered and the PTSD I suffered. He also failed to note that I had someone come in several days a week to cook meals for me and ensure I ate. This was recorded as ‘can prepare a meal using simple tools’ despite telling him I had no grip and dropped sharp knives into my foot and dropped pans of boiling water onto myself but this was ignored. The HP also noted that my hands did not seem to be ‘red and swollen’ despite the fact I was wearing gloves and my hands were not visible

DWP then sent a MR letter without actually sending me the decision letter. I queried this and DWP stated that this was a decision letter but sent out as an MR as my PIP claim had been closed and reopened. I wrote to them requesting a MR adding that my phone had actually recorded the full assessment and clearly shows that the HP failed to record accurately and that in the 31 minutes of the assessment he had spent 25 minutes looking at the screen typing (timings were taken from the recording) I also informed them that the HP failed to record the falls and injuries and the fact that my GP had informed me that my liver was starting to fail (this was recorded as ‘joking with the HP’

I then received a letter from Motability telling me that DWP had informed them that I was not getting the higher rate mobility and had to return my car. Despite wrotibg to DWP querying this nearly a month ago, I still HAVE NOT received the MR decision or an original decision letter. I also informed them that I now need a wheelchair but I have been ignored. Even writing to my MP who has taken it up with Amber Rudd, has not elicited any response.

Can I submit an appeal on the grounds that no MR letter has been sent to me in what appears to be a deliberate attempt to remove my ability and right to appeal. Can anyone shed any light on this?

You don't include any timescales for these events, when did you request the MR?

You mention that you received an MR letter, did this include two copies of a Mandatory Reconsideration Notice? This MR letter appears to have been received by you prior to your requesting an MR, is this correct?

When was your assessment?
