DLA change of circumstances was created by jennycollins10
Hi
Hope you can help me I am 62 and currently receive DLA Higher rate Mobility was transferred from Mobility Allowance with a lifetime award. I was later awarded Lower rate Care
However my conditions have changed in recent years and I now need a lot more help with my care as a result of the deterioration, I had been expecting to be reviewed and transferred to PIP so hadn’t wanted to risk my current award until I had to.
But I also now have problems with my sight and hearing. Having used the B&W self assessment tool on line it indicates I should score 21 points for Care, plus 24 points for Mobility.
So do I need to apply for a review of my DLA or do I need to make a fresh application for PIP and if so how should I start the process? I am so scared that I could lose everything but know I have to bite the bullet and have a go.
I have a lot of medical evidence to support any review/claim.
Any advice would be most welcome

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

You need to write to the DWP office that deals with your DLA to inform them that your conditions have deteriorated and that you want to be reassessed, this should result in your being invited to claim PIP.
The PIP Claim guide explains how you can then make a claim for PIP.
