Asked about social media usage at PIP assessment

Hi.

I recently attended my PIP assessment and was asked out of the blue "would you find things like social media to be challenging?". When I replied that I didn't use social media, I was asked "is there any reason for that?" so I answered that it simply didn't interest me. The next question was "so you don't have any social media accounts at all?" to which I replied No, but that was instantly followed up with "have you ever had social media accounts?". My reply was, again, that it never interested me, so no, I have never had any social media accounts.

I really wasn't prepared for such weird questions, and now suspect that my answers came over as evasive or dishonest. Has anyone else ever been asked questions surrounding social media usage, and if how, how did you answer?

Thanks.

It's a fairly standard question although not actually relevant to the PIP Descriptors. We have had members report that they classed as being able to mix with others because they use social media, ignoring the requirement that the contact has to be face to face.
