PIP Assessment was created by Rossi1999
I have now been through the ESA and PIP Reviews. The ESA was a sympathetic, reassuring and successful process. PIP... Wow. Unsampathetic, rushed, pressurised and demeaning,. When the assessor left, I had that same sick feeling I had when I bought double glazing when I didn't want any, feeling "what on earth just happened there. The oath of "Do no Harm",does not apply here. Not only do I feel physically sick, going over the interview in my head and all the wrong paths I was lead down., but I now feel useless.
Does the decision maker look at the ESA mobility and care results, from a few weeks back, (which was arrived at, by actually watching me walk down a corridor)when looking at Capita's multiple guess PIP results, especially as I didn't walk anywhere, I was just asked to estimate distances outside of the window. Heaven knows what he put on his laptop. Marathon distance for all I know!! Your advice would be appreciated.

The PIP and ESA departments are separate, they may not even be in the same building so it is unlikely, although not impossible, that they will look at your recent ESA award when making the Decision on your PIP claim.

There is also the issue of whether the ESA award is relevant to your PIP claim, whilst there are some areas of overlap, even where there are the criteria can still be different.

Many thanks for your reply. I understand that ESA and PIP assessments are different and have different criteria. The part I am worried about is walking distance. The ESA walking was observed by a Doctor and 15 metres was agreed as the maximum safe distance. I have no idea what the PIP assessor put down. I didn't walk anywhere as it was a home visit and just used outside points as a guesstimate. I'm just worried as he seemed determined to undermine replies to get a result for himself.
