Sever Disability Premium was created by Ryan
so attended CAB who showed me a printout that if a person is on middle rate care they should be getting a SDP and therefore cannot make a claim for U/C, but trying to find out if my daughter is in reciept of this is impossible, she gets a disabled premium on her WTC but they said I need to contact DWP to establish if it is the severe or the standard. any advice on who I can contact either by email or by phone please, as at the moment she is using her DLA to pay her rent.

Anything your daughter receives as part of Tax Credits is not relevant to her being eligible for the SD Premium, Tax Credits are administered by HMRC not the DWP.
She needs to be entitled to the Premium, this requires her to be receiving a means-tested benefit such as Income Related ESA, Income Based JSA, Income Support, there are others.
She must be receiving DLA Care at either Medium or Higher Rates or PIP Daily Living, there are others.
No one must be claiming Carers Allowance against the DLA or PIP.
She must live alone or be considered as living alone.

Thanks Gordon, as I said she is on middle rate care, I think what you are telling me is because she is working she cannot claim the SDP, seems a shame to have to pay her rent out of her DLA...Citizens Advice have confused me.

Does she not qualify for Housing Benefit or the HB element of UC?
