IB to ESA Transitional Rules was created by dave-rv
Hi.
I was originally on Incapacity Benefit and was migrated on to ESA Support Group (I only receive a contribution based benefit). As part of this migration a transitional benefit is paid, which I understand ends in April 2020.

Question 1
I am also in receipt of a small occupational pension which, under the transitional rules, is disregarded for calculating my ESA. Does anyone know whether this also ceases next April, and my occupational pension will be considered using the normal ESA rules?

Question 2
I want to get married but am concerned this might impact my ESA. As I understand it, because my ESA is just contribution based, marrying and moving in with my wife will not impact my benefit. Is this correct?

1. As far as I can see the April 2020 date applies only to any Transitional Payment you might be receiving.

2. If you are only receiving ESA(CB) then your moving in with your partner will have no effect on your payments.

Thanks for helping clarify that.
I can't find anything about occupational pensions when the transitional payments end!

It is detailed separately as an amendment to the ESA Regulations 2008.
