Deafness and PIP Q11 was created by ikl
Hello, I am puzzled about Q11 of the PIP Claim form, Mixing with other people, in terms of deafness. I have has hearing loss all my life, and spent most of my life avoiding or enduring social situations in which I struggled to hear what people were saying. I do now have a middle ear hearing implant, but still struggle in many situations to hear people.
On a PIP advice sheet produced by Action for Hearing Loss they say almost nothing at all for Q11, which puzzles me.
Any suggestions/advice welcome.
Thank you.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

It's surprising that they do not, whilst it is not mentioned directly in the Descriptors hearing loss would be a significant factor in a claimant's ability to interact with others in a social situation and there is Case Law in support of this.
