Epilepsy and RA was created by tarka
Hi there, I'm now at the stage of filling in the dreaded pip2 form. I've joined the forum to get as much advice and help as possible. What I've read up about and found out has up to now been very helpful.
I suffer with severe rheumatoid arthritis and also have epilepsy. Regarding the epilepsy, I mainly have nocturnal seizures but I may still have the odd one once a year in the day. As this happens only on the rare occassion, which of the list of questions would this help me get points, if any at all.
I've had RA for forty years now and had many joint replacements - shoulder, elbows hip and knucle over the time and I have to take care of them, like avoid lifting anything more than a bag of sugar. I'm sure these problems/disabilities will help me score points, but do these assessors see joint replacements as a cure for your problems?

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
Have a look at our PIP Claim there is a section on "Safely" that your epilepsy would come under.

Operations are usually seen as a cure so if this has not happened in your case then you need to make this clear on your form.
