u/c payment stooped was created by merlin
a relative has recently lost her u/c because 2 payments on her part time earnings had gone through in the same month and the following month there was no paymen tfor her part time work although it was obvious there was a admin error , the dwp stopped theu/c payment that month which cost £500. When this was contested the dwp said to contact the local mp as there was no other form of appeal , is this true or do you have a right to appeal a mistake that you had no control over.

It sounds as if it has been badly explained but this, unfortunately, is how UC is designed to work, so in the month in question, the claimant's income exceeded their UC entitlement so the claim is automatically closed, they can reinstate the claim the next month.

It's an issue that has been raised multiple time with the Government but nothing has been done, so I would encourage your relative to contact their MP but not with any expectation of their individual case being dealt with.
