Just had my pip assessment did not think it went well as the medical person was not nice at all. How long will I wait before I can appeal the decision, she was typing and asking questions at the same time and was abrupt witch was making me the same.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

I don't have a current view of how long you will have to wait for a Decision but we were advising ten weeks at the beginning of April.

Hi, I had a similar experience, but my assessor seemed to have no knowledge of my illnesses or even some of the medications.
When they make their decision, if you disagree, you first have to ask for a mandatory reconsideration within one month of the decision. They then look at your case and reply within a month. Your award can go up or down at this stage.
If you still think your award is wrong you can appeal to Tribunal within one month of your mandatory reconsideration. You can then gather as much information as possible for your appeal. A copy of the initial request is sent to the DWP. At this point some decisions are reversed others will go to tribunal (up to 12 week backlog depending on your location)
Ask the DWP for a copy of the assessor's report PA4. Mine was filled with inaccuracies and incorrect assumptions. Armed with that report and the Benefits & Work guides, I built a solid case for my tribunal appeal.
They called me about 4 weeks after submitting my request for appeal to tribunal to reinstate my PIP.
The assessors can be intimidating and lack the requisite knowledge of your condition. Their report will show you where they either misinterpreted your answers or didn't do their assessment completely or correctly.
