sdp moving house was created by az
hi I separated from my wife and I moved into a single bed flat I am in receipt of esa support group and dla middle care low mobility. when I phoned dwp for change of address the lady said that I need council tax and housing benefit for the new property to get sdp but if I apply for council tax and housing benefit I will be asked to claim uc. any advice please

What type of ESA are you receiving?
Even if you are not receiving Income Related ESA at the moment then you may still be eligible. ESA(IR) is dependant on your household income, your savings and assets, and any hours that your partner works. See
Asset and savings rule for ESA(IR)
24 hour work rule for ESA(IR)
If you are and you are living alone and no one is receiving Carers Allowance against you DLA then you are entitled to the SD Premium as part of your ESA and this should bar you from claiming Universal Credit, allowing you to claim HB on its own. Contact the DWP office dealing with your claim to have the SDP added.
If you are not eligible for ESA(IR) then I'm afraid the only way you can access HB is through a claim for UC.

hi thinks for the help I receive Income related esa and I dont work and no one gets carer allowance for me
