appealing against amount points given was created by SHARRON JOHNSTON
I have just recieved my reviewed PIP letter/ My condition has change a lot since my last assesment 2 years ago.
The assessor did not come around the table to examine my hands, fingers shoulders or my legs. i have problem with my mobility due to Athritus and Angina. I was awarded 10 points. He never asked about my breathlessness on my walking or exsursion .
I cant put or get anything out of oven as when fingers are so sore and stiff cant hold anything. Only scored 2 points for this..He never even asked me to grasp his finger.Also because of fingers shoulders and siatica in back I some days cant shower or dress my self as cant bend down yet I was only allowed 2 points for this .
Also suffer anxiety since I lost my son 6 years ago and find meeting people hard
Sorry letter bit muddled, hope you can get the jist of it. Do you think it is worth appealing or just leave alone.
Thank you Sharron

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
The decision has to be yours.
The first thing you need to consider is whether you can realistically score higher you mention several area;
- What Descriptor did you score the ten points for in the Mobility activities?
- PIP does not look at whether you can use an oven or not, only a hob and a microwave.
- I can only go on the information that you post, so you say that "some days" you cannot shower and dress that implies that most days you can, PIP requires that you cannot complete an activity reliably on the majority of days. What did you actually say for this?
- do you have a diagnosed condition that would explain why you find meeting people hard?
