MR for Daughters PIP

I am my daughters appointee. After a long boring process we finally got her PIP renewal award which has been upped to High Rate Daily living and Low rate mobility. She has Autism and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and really should have high rate mobility as she cannot plan and follow the route of an unfamiliar journey as well as struggles to walk. We obtained her PA4, have gone through it and found a load of errors that may give her the points she needs (distances exaggerated in the assessment centre being one). There is a For Office use only box right at the end of the form that states "Skin Disease [ Disease of collagen and elastic tissue [ Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Should I mention that they have missed Autism from this box?

The Autism is listed in the history of conditions section, and is largely what has got her the care component (struggles to mix with people|).

She scored 10 points for moving around, in the "Can stand or move more than 20 metres but no more than 50 metres using an aid or appliance" This was noted to be slow and the distances exaggerated.


I believe she should have got 4 points for needs prompting to be able to undertake a journey to avoid overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant. She was awarded only these points at her original PIP face to face, but they say because she can pass exams and her driving test that she has improved since then.

Going out by herself causes her anxiety. She worries about getting lost, having to talk to strangers, changes in routes and routine. She is unable to follow a sat-nav as it is not literal enough. Bur she can go out with someone with her, who often "interpret" for her.
