Hi
Can you please tell me does rental income affect PIP or Contribution based Esa.
My partner looks after the property and he is the landlord but gives me half of the rental income.
Also approx last 6 years - even though still receiving these benefits my state pension record show I am underpaid. for 6 years. I thought if on incapacity benefit or ESA it qualified me for this. Would it be because I get rental income. Each year I do a self assessment tax return for all income. Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks

PIP is not a means tested benefit so any income or savings that you have will not affect the benefit.

If you are only receiving ESA(CB) then it is also not affected by any rental income.

The missing contributions are nothing to do with the rental income, check with the DWP as they have obviously not informed the Pensions unit that you have been receiving ESA.
