I got passed, for 10 years of PIP, by mandatory consideration, 2 years ago, and received a letter that states I will not be contacted again for review until after November 2026.
3 wks ago got a random letter from DWP saying thank you for telling me there is a change! There wasn't! We phoned to say we haven't they said its prob a mistake and to write 'there's no change' on every page and sign and return, so I did that and hadn't heard anything until a text message today saying I have to go to a review!! I'm really shocked. I was told 10 years I wouldn't be contacted and then this has and getting nowhere with DWP about it.
Is this happening to others please? I dont know what to do and I cant go through it all again!
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

Unfortunately, the PIP legislation allows them to reassess a claim at any time and for any reason despite what might have been awarded at a previous assessment.

If you are being asked to attend a face to face then my advice would be to treat it as a new claim, I don't think that you can approach it as no change, the assessor certainly won't be looking at your issues in this way.

I would consider preparing a letter explaining how you currently meet the PIP Descriptors, you can copy what you have previously submitted but I would try and update it as you can. You could give this to the assessor at the start of the interview and ask them to read it

I had this happen and have also been asked to go for review. Why is it in black and white in my last pass only two years ago that they will not contact me again until after 2026 and yet im only two years in and being called in again. It is all adding to the illness and making me worse and back to square one after only just getting health on a stable blood count. Surely if the assessment is refused I have every good reason to fight this? its like harrassment

I had this happen last December: My PIP award had been increased at tribunal, and at the same time changed from a 2 to 5yr award. Then suddenly in December I got a letter/form for it to be reviewed. When I phoned and queried why, DWP could see on system there had been a tribunal and my payment increased since then. However the award date hadn't been changed. When I got my call back the DWP person checked a different system to the one initial call handlers can access; they could see the new 5yr date, and just said the 2 systems don't talk to each other so tribunal result/date hadn't been changed on renewal system.

Isn't IT great! They did tell me just to ignore form, & when I asked if would get that in writing sent me one of the standard letters confirming my award that you get if request proof of benefits to give someone else

Thanks for your help everyone. It is all very stressful and horrid as I never expected it. Should have really, I suppose, they are underhand at the best of times aren't they. Thanks again.
