PIP and Retirement Age was created by johnlyn
I asked this question a few months ago when Amber Rudd was made SS for Work and Pensions, I didn't qualify then and it looked like I would have to have a face to face assessment every 3 years as I have to at present. I'm hoping with the new announcements that it might just help myself and people on pip that have reached retirement age. I am nearly 69 (next month) my next pip assessment is due in about 18-20 months. Do these new rules of a soft/light touch review apply to myself? I'm sure there are many claimants in my position.

It is the Government's intention to extend this to existing PIP claimants but we do not know when this will happen.

"The DWP also announced that the 10 year light touch review will be extended to existing PIP claimants above State Pension age in the coming months".
I was 66 at my first review in 2018, extended by four years, review after three.
Do we know if the LIGHT TOUCH 10 years will be from the original award 2015, the first review i have had 2018 or my current review date 2021?
Confused, I am now................

Where it has been done to date they have superseded the existing award and replaced it with an On-Going one starting on the day that the Decision is made.
