PIP Application and home visit was created by Xtina
Hi,
I was invited to apply for PIP after being on indefinate DLA. My application went in and was due on 24th May and today I've rec'd a letter dated 3rd June arranging a Home Visit for the 13th June. I'm confused as I didn't request a Home Visit and also the time frame seems very quick. Has anyone heard of anything like this before? Any advice please. Thanks in advance, Christina x

Hi Christina

The timing is not particularly unusual, though the time can vary in different parts of the country.

Sometimes people are offered a home visit without requesting one on the evidence which has been submitted - deeming it more appropriate than asking someone to come to an assessment center. (It is also possible that a home visit was the only available appointment).

You can request an appointment at an assessment center if you don't wish them to visit you in your own home.
