Hi

My son has had pretty chronic problems the last few years and is in the Esa work group, though I think support would have been better. They don't call him to loads of meetings, but asked to go to one soon, the first this year. It is with a 'health wellbeng work coach', bit confusing as dont recall seeing this title before, it might be same as always. However they have scheduled an 'event' there the same day which will stress him out and he wont be able to face, there are 11 different volunteering and disabiltity or substance support groups attending the day. There is a lot of backup referring to sanctions so i get the distinct impression if we tried to change day for meeting that would not go well. I hope he's not expected to speak to them as he will find that way too stressful, he's not in a position with his health where he can turn up to activities etc. He'd be totally unreliable if he was able to even get there at all, which is unlikely. Has anyone heard of these before? They might be helpful for some, but its too much for him to take on.

If you do an internet search for "The Work and Health Programme" you should find some useful information.

You need to be cautious of activities that are described as "mandatory" as they can lead to your son's ESA being sanctioned.

Thanks, I take it you mean make sure he goes along to 'mandatory' things to try and avoid any sanction?
