PIP assessment questions who was created by Soozie2468
I am due a PIP assessment soon and wondered, if you are accompanied by a friend or carer, will they too be asked questions about your disability or illness and how it affects you? My friend attended an appeal tribunal with me last time round (DLA) but they only questioned me. They don't live with me and dont know all of the (embarrassing) traits of my illness and they are worried they might not be able to answer some questions correctly and therefore discredit my application. I need to have them with me if I need help to get onto the bed or remove shoes and get up and down etc from chairs and my wheelchair . Can anyone tell me whether they are expected to be included in the assessment please?

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

A friend or carer is not part of the assessment process unless you ask if they can speak on your behalf. Just tell the assessor they are with you for moral support. They do not have to say a word.
