Hi , advise wanted . I recently had an ESA assessment and have been moved into the support group following a medical . Yesterday I got my letter saying my lifetime DLA award will end and I must apply for pip . While they are different benefits would it be worth me requesting a copy of the medical report as medical evidence for my pip claim or will the DWP automatically do this ?
If you think that information from the ESA award would be helpful then I would include it if you can, the DWP will not supply it to the assessor and it is unlikely that a DM will refer to it but make sure that you explain why you think it would be relevant, even where there are overlaps between the two benefits the criteria can still be quite different.
You can request the report, an ESA85 if you had a face to face and an ESA85A if you did not by contacting the DWP office dealing with ESA your claim.
