PIP assessment guidelines was created by Julie
I'm trying to get hold of the exact criteria for what a claimant's rights are during a PIP assessment. The Govt's PIP Handbook is far more exact than the assessor's (IAS) guidelines, which are vague at best. I need this info so I can make a complaint against the assessor, who was very obstructive. Is the PIP Handbook the one I should use as 'gospel', as it were? I'm about to ring the DWP/PIP section but last time I tried to get this info from them they were very vague.

Hi Julie

Yes if you're going to make a complaint against the assessor the government's handbook is useful. I would never take anything as 'gospel' unless it has been enshrined in law.
