Using Electronic version of ESA 50 was created by Richardo
Hi,
My last ESA assessment was in March 2013, when I was transferred from Incapacity benefit. I have now received another ESA 50 to complete and I notice that the pages of this one are similar in number but smaller in size, thus allowing less space to provide adequate answers. Am I allowed, by the DWP, to download the electronic version, and send a completed copy of that to them instead of the paper one they sent me?
I reach retirement age in May of 2020 and I would like to know what my options are if they find me fit for work; I am currently in the support group.
Finally, I have to return the ESA form by July 24th, what is the likely timescale of the whole process to time of getting a decision, or is that question similar to how long is apiece of string.
Apologies for length of question.
Regards, Ricardo

You can download the ESA50 from the following page
www.gov.uk/government/publications/capab...r-work-questionnaire
If you are found Fit for Work then you can request a Mandatory Reconsideration but you will not be paid during this process, if you go onto appeal then you can request that the ESA Assessment rate is paid.
Alternatively, you can claim Universal Credit but if you do then you cannot return to ESA.
There are considerable delays in the ESA assessment process and some members have reported waits of over nine months, however, this does seem to vary by region and cities seem to have shorter wait times, so I can't say how long you will have to wait to hear about an assessment. A Decision should be 4-6 weeks after this.
