Medical evidence...i haven't got any new was created by Carly
My PIP telephone assessment yesterday unnerved me as the guy kept putting me on hold but I'm sure he was still on the line...listening?
Anyway I get Middle rate care and higher mobility on DLA. My smashed feet after falling off a roof 9 years ago will only get worse as the years go by (I'm 63) im still on high doses of painkillers as I can't function without them but the point is I'm having no on going treatment, don't go to doctors about feet anymore so will I be penalised for not going regularly? Really, why would i bother my doctor when ive been told there's nothing more anyone can do.
After going to ESA tribunal (and winning!) 2 years ago, I've dreaded this day! Didn't sleep a wink last night.
Oh and the guy also wanted the name and address of the person who may help me with the application? If I'm not awarded PIP will it affect my ESA as if so, I'm doomed!
Thank you

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Carly
The fact that you're prescribed high does of painkillers shows you have some contact with the NHS (even if it's on repeat). There are plenty of people who do not have current medical evidence simply because they have been discharged from services and like yourself have been told nothing can be done, but still, go on to be awarded PIP.
If you are not awarded PIP it has no effect on your ESA award.

The initial telephone call inviting you to claim is purely an admin exercise, confirming details of you, your disabilities, your bank details, and who your GP is, if you are resident and if you have been on holiday abroad etc.
The PIP2 form will take approx two weeks to arrive and is dated the day of your telephone call which was yesterday in your case. You have a month from that date to return it and you can ring when you get the form and request an extension of two weeks.
Make a copy of your latest repeat script, contact surgery for a letter or medical report outlining your disabilities, they will have a record of this, when you were diagnosed etc. Start studying the members pip guide and prepare some answers, doing a bit a time leading up to the form arriving is less stressful, even if you can dig out old medical reports or anything related to the time of your accident whilst waiting the form will be helpful, historical evidence should be taken into consideration. Make copies to enclose with your form. Follow the guides, ask more questions on the forum and pace yourself.
Good luck
