Confuded! was created by Michael King
Received my letter this morning from DWP stating my award for Daily living needs and mobility as both Standard rate, reading my points score is however absolutely ridiculous to the point the assessor has blatantly miss represented the truth!
I understand that awards are made for a period..my states for an Ongoing Period...On reading I thought this only applied if you were awarded High Rates! Can anyone enlighten me please.

No, an on-going period can be used against any award, it's perhaps more likely to be used for an Enhanced one but we have other members who have Standard awards for an On-Going Period.

Can you enlighten me as to what an Ongoing Period exactly means though?

Hi M

In 2018, the DWP introduced new guidance that meant people receiving ongoing awards, where their needs were expected to stay the same or increase, would have a light touch review every 10 years.

An On-Going award means no reassessment for at least ten years subject to your not reporting a Change of Circumstances.

The assessment should be what the DWP are calling a Light Touch review but there is no information on what this actually means, including within the DWP who apparently have not decided yet what it will mean and probably won't look at it until 2023 when the first On-Going awards reach the ten-year mark.
