PIP AWARD SUCCESS was created by Allrounder
I had wondered whether there is a quiet change of policy and process at DWP.

My wife – severely sight impaired (blind registered) and formerly claiming DLA since its inception – applied for PIP 8 weeks or so ago. She was advised by text after 3 days that DWP had all the information they required to consider her claim and would get back to her within a set period. Without further correspondence from her or from DWP and with no “face-to-face” assessment being sought, she was informed in writing that she qualified for higher rate on both PIP elements for 10 years.

Good news of course; particularly as we had been thinking that she would experience the functional assessment process at first hand, but that was not to be. Has anyone else had a similar, positive, experience?

I've moved your post to its own topic, we ask members not to post their questions in other member's topics as it can lead to the wrong advice being given or taken.

Congratulations on the award.

No change in policy, if a claimant clearly meets the criteria then there should be no need for a face to face to be done.
