Hi I claim PIP (enhanced)and ESA(support group) but have just been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and Motor Neurones last month . I just wondered if there is such a thing as severe disability premium I may now be entitled to as 1 of the nurses mentioned it . Any help would be appreciated . Thanks
There is a Severe Disability Premium, to be eligible you need to meet the following criteria;
- You need to be receiving or entitled to (with the SDP) Income Related ESA - You need to be receiving a qualifying benefit such as a PIP Daily Living award (there are other benefits) - You need to be living alone or considered to be living alone
If you meet all of the requirements then contact the DWP office dealing with your claim and ask to complete an IS10 form, this captures details about the above and will allow the DWP to make a Decision about whether you are eligible for the Premium.
Gordon - No one must be receiving Carers Allowance against your qualifying benefit
Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
