HELP
I was called for a medical for my eesa , I called to change the date as my son was unable to accompany me as he always does as I really can’t cope with it physically or mentally on my own
We were ready to leave and one hour prior to appointment THEY called to cancel, I said I would give them alternate dates he would be avail to accompany me for a rescheduled ASSESMENT , they told me to wait for the letter , when it arrived the date meant my son couldn’t attend so I called them, they said I couldn’t change it as I had already done thus once, I explained they cancelled the rescheduled appointment , I was told to wait for a letter and explain this , which I did
I received a letter last week to say my benefit has now been withdrawn and following that a further letter to say my housing benefit is now cancelled
I called the no provided and they said the decision maker would call me within 3 days, which they have not done and I can’t get thru on phone
Help and advice desperately needed please

Did the DWP contact you before they wrote to you saying that your ESA was being stopped?
This will be difficult as technically you have moved the appointment twice, I realise that Maximus cancelled the first rearranged appointment but the DWP won't be looking at this.
Do you know why you received the ESA? Was it due to your being unable to go out alone?
You can request a Mandatory Reconsideration of the Decision the guides in the ESA area explain how to do this.

Speak to your council, you should be able to receive HB on the basis of nil income.

Hi
I would put in writing a complaint send it recorded delivery to the manager state that it was they who cancelled the last appoint and make it clear you need your son to attend as you cannot travel by yourself . In the mean time keep trying the contact number I know it can be a pain and the cost of hanging on for such a long time to get answered.
A few years back they sent me a letter saying my benefit was stopped as I didn't complete the esa50 form sent, which I never received they checked out the letter I sent and reinstated my claim and sent the form which I completed and returned.
