help with filling out ESA50 form was created by joachimk
in 2017 i had an assessment for ESA scored 0 points. I complained to MAXIMUS got an apology and £300 consolatory payment. Still had to go to tribunal and was the put in support group. Now again today another ESA50 to fill in. Any help with filling in the form would be appreciated!

I have copies of letters Rheumatologist and a kidned doctor sent to my GP with a list of my diagnosis some are 2017 and 2018 and one in 2019 . What are the oldest letters they accept as i have some more going back to 2010.

There is no 'rule' about how old the letters are - the most important is that they are relevant. I think it is accepted that letters that are up to three years old are the ones they are most likely to take notice of. However, older ones do get taken notice of and I recently helped someone to a successful claim where we used letters some of which were over thirty years old, to show a pattern of their illness. (That is a bit extreme, but it worked).
If you think it is relevant, then use it. I always quote from letters throughout the form, so they don't just read the letters in isolation. So if I was talking about preparing a meal I might say
"X is unable to cut vegetables, or prepare a simple meal due to chronic arthritis as diagnosed by Dr.Y in his letter dated 12 Aug 2015 - Appendix 1. It keeps the assessor focussed on why your evidence matters.

Sorry to bother you again .Before i went to Tribunal in Sep.2017 my GP wrote a letter which I sent on to Tribunal before hearing and as far as I am aware the courts sent a copy of this on to the DWP. On this letter my GP states that Gout effects both his feet and hands and he has regular attacks. Only things different since then and now is now the Rheumatologist refers to my gout as being chronic as i had a kidney biopsy in late 2017 and was diiagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease.Should i enclose a copy of this letter [GP 2017 letter I sent to Tribunal] also and make the point that only difference between then and now is my gout has become chronic as any Rheumatologist letters state since I had my kidney biopsy Thank you

If you have more up-to-date letters that say your condition is now chronic, you only need to include those. However, if the 2017 letter says something that you do not have evidence of anywhere else, then include it.
