PIP and retirement pension was created by Col49
After many years on DLA; which a tribunal awarded at the Higher rate of mobility and middle rate of care; I was asked to attend a PIP assessment. The result; was that I lost both aspects under PIP assessment. I have since appealed the decision and am awaiting a tribunal hearing. My main question; as I am reaching retirement age is; as I am on income support; should I apply for retirement pension or defer it until after the PIP tribunal hearing? Logic says; as these are two separate benefits; that I should apply for my retirement pension now; which is due mid September. Any advice welcome.
