posting pip form was created by william1972
Hi
2 questions realy, the first it looks like i will have the pip form plus 20 or so (might be more) copies to send off to the DWP. Might not fit in the brown window envelope they sent can i use a bigget envelope and record sign for delivery. Im worried that being the DWP i might get you did not send in correct envelope? second i have many letters from various mental health proffesinals going back 25 yrs, stating my inability to basically mix with people, can i ask/insist on home visit and where on the form does this request go? cheers

It’s fine to use a bigger envelope. I had to because the extra information was so great. I also sent it first class, tracked and signed for. It was received at 5.30am the next day. I do this with any correspondence I engage in with the DWP. It’s expensive but worth it for peace of mind.

Hi William1972
Use your own envelope if necessary. Plenty of people have done so (including me). There are no problems with that.
You can request a home visit, you cannot insist upon it and you will need a letter from your GP which makes it clear that a home visit is necessary because an assessment centre would cause you undue psychological distress. Without the letter from the GP you have little chance of being offered a home visit and even then you need to be aware they still do not always offer one.
There's a bit near the end of the form that says about being contacted for a face to face assessment. Write in there that you would like a home visit and be clear from your point of view why.
