PIP Tribunal and medical records was created by SueR19
So my PIP tribunal was today and they immediately adjourned because (a)they want my medical records and (b)they want the DWP there to justify why I went from over 15 points to nil when there was no change in my mental health issues.

I am concerned about the medical records quite simply because there is things in there that are hightly personal and private and have absolutely nothing to do with either my mental health conditions or my PIP claim and I do not want to share these things with either the tribunal staff or the DWP. Can I get the medical records myself as opposed to giving consent to the tribunal, then redact the (very few) parts that are sensitive and non-important?

Hi SueR19

I would contact the tribunal services and say this is what you want to do and explain why. They cannot access all your records without your express consent. I would also ask whether the panel want 'all your records' or just clarification from GP and/or consultants of your medical condition.

I would be very surprised if a member of the DWP actually decides to attend next time. They rarely do.
