dla to pip was created by Thornang
Hi first post please be nice, My husband was on an indefinate award of dla high rate care low mobility for Bi Polar, his physical health has been deteriating for a number of years with arthritus, but did not claim for this, then he got the pip claim forms, we filled it out as acuratley as we thought possible, he went to a face to face medical ( do not think the person who did it had any medical training at all) and scorred 6 points on care. we had bought walking sticks, he has a nhs hearing aid but this we are told by dwp he does not need! the dwp says he can handle money and budgeting decisions even though he sent a copy of his DRO as proof he cannot handle money, the list goes on, On mr he has got standard on care and mobility, the further information that was sent with this was a letter from our local RIACT team who has provided hubby with various aids and adaptions to our home, as well as a letter confirming he is back under the local mental health team. We have logged an online appeal. I asked for a copy of the medical report by post way back in june it was sent by signed for post, but have still not recieved anything? I have kept a paper trail and have copies of everything sent and recieved. any help with dealing with dwp greatly recieved.

Hi Thomang
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
I'm afraid there is little that you can do, but to ring up the DWP and check that they received your written request for the report. You know that it has been signed for and so it will be difficult for them to deny receiving it (though they might try). See what they say about whether they received the request and whether they have sent it out. It should have arrived by now.
Also - please have a look at our guide on putting in an appeal, so you make sure that you fully understand where and what you should be challenging. Don't get stuck on anything that won't actually earn him extra points.
