My husband had his dla to pip assessment recently and now after thinking on it for a while about what happened I realise quite a few questions weren't asked. The HP didn't ask about walking distances or anything. My husband has learning difficulties (and physical) and the hp just got a brief basic description from him on how it feels to walk and then said to me that obviously he doesn't go out alone. other questions were missed out aswell . My husband has a rare disorder and the hp said when they arrived I read up on it and the form was consistent with what they would expect. I keep thinking that this may mean they were on his side but I just cant think he will get his pip without a fight because if I open the envelope and that isn't the case I will be crushed. from what ive said would you be hopeful?
As your husband has had his assessment, you could ring the DWP and ask for a copy of the assessment report should you want to take a look before you receive the decision. It normally takes 6 - 10 days to arrive.
I can't say what the assessor may or may not have been thinking, but they don't always ask all the questions and this is sometimes because you have already answered them on the form or with the evidence provided and they don't feel the need for clarification.
