DLA to PIP. Something to note about ESA payment.

I thought I'd mention here that my DLA to PIP transfer whilst stressful had a good conclusion. I received enhanced on both and am very grateful to those on this site that helped and provided information.
What I felt I should mention is that in doing so, my ESA payment suddenly stopped. Apparently in transferring it alerts them at ESA to look into your entitlement. I'd never hear it mentioned before and only found when my payment didn't go in. They said something about checking entitlement and my eligibility for sdp. They know I'm not as I had the conversation with a dwp person months ago. It's good they check if you are entitled to more benefit but a letter or call to say they were stopping money n could I ring them would have been nice. Just not paying it in and assuming I'd ring seems off to me!!
Anyway, its sorted now (after an hour on the phone!!) but just be aware it may happen when you change to pip and to check your esa goes in in time and ring.
Thank you again for the help on here. I'm staying subscribed. You never know when the dwp may drop another surprise through your letterbox.

Hi Seels

Congratulations on your PIP award. Good to hear.

Interesting about the ESA - thanks for alerting us to this. Not heard it happening before.

Replied by simonthesmoothy on topic DLA to PIP. Something to note about ESA payment.
My ESA payments stopped after inital phone claim for pip.
I received a text to say my DLA was stopping and I did I want to claim PIP, if so call to claim. I called and made initial contact then waited for the claim form.
About a week later when i noticed my ESA hadnt gone in my bank on its due date i received a txt from DWP...
We need to talk to you about your ESA claim. Please call us straightaway on 08001690310.
In a panic, I called and was told they just needed to verify my address and contact details.
I asked if thats all was needed to resolve payment issue and was told that if the computer has a query, all payments stop till issue is resolved.
10 minutes after call, I received another text from DWP....
We have received your enquiry about your ESA. You don't need to call us. Payment will be paid to your account by midnight on 15.05.2019.

I thought maybe just a computer glitch but after seeing your post, im not so sure.
Is this another underhand tactic by DWP??
If this has happened to you too, let us all know.
Hopefully we can get a better idea of what tactics theyre employing now.
