Hi I wonder if you could help.desperately need advice urgently.
Circumstances
Disabled adult son, DLA highest rates
Parent carer in receipt of carers allowance, I ncome support
Overnight support worker needs a bedroom
1.Moving too private rented property, unsure whether to ask for a joint tenancy.
Rent is 575pcm
2.. Indications from the council say we are entitled to 1 bed rate each, in total 346.00 per month
Can any of you benefit advisers fathom this out., I thought we would be entitled to 3 bed rate.?

Hi Lisa

Housing Benefit is outside of the benefits that we cover on the forum and in this case you need to ask specialist housing advisors. I would seek advice from Shelter england.shelter.org.uk/ - telephone number: 0808 800 4444 or try and clarify with your local council.

Hi Lisa

You will need to get a letter from your son's doctor stating that he requires overnight support.
