I'm in a bit of a dilemma with pip was created by Shellyj79
Hi everyone
I had my pip assessment on the 12th and received the text today saying the dwp have my assessment report and will write with their decision in 6 weeks.
I did fill my pip form in explaining that I was currently undergoing investigation for osteoarthritis in my hip, I already have it in my knees, and I put down that I do suffer with back pain which has always been put down to tension in my body due to my mental health conditions and severe anxiety. I expained as best as I could at my assessment how it affects me.
Flash forward to today and my gp has called me to say my hip xray is back and I have a confirmed diagnosis of osteoarthritis in my hip and also in my back, she was quite apologetic for brushing me off about my back for so many years and putting in down to tension.
So my question is what should I do now, do I need to ring pip to let them know that the hip diagnosis has come back definite and that I do have a proper diagnosis for my back, or should I wait and see what decision I do get, before I do anything with this new information.

Hi Shellyj79

I would send in additional evidence before a decision maker makes their decision and at the same time ask DWP for a copy of your assessment report to give you heads up at what the outcome might be.

Thank you Gary I am going to my Dr's surgery today so I can see what evidence I can get of her while I'm there.
