How do I get supporting letters from drs etc was created by Winston1968
How do I get my Dr , OT and my Consultant to send me a report of some sort or a letter explaining my disabilities etc. I contacted my Drs surgery and asked if they could do a letter etc and I was told that they don't do them. So I don't know how to go about getting any supporting evidence. Do I request a subject access request ?

I'm afraid quite a lot of doctors are unwilling to write letters. Often they say they will wait until the DWP write to them, which they rarely do.
Yes, you can make a subject access request at your doctor's which should give you access to your notes including any letters that have previously been sent to the GP from hospital consultants. You could then use whatever you think is appropriate. There's usually a cost attached to this.
Whether your OT or consultant are willing to write letters, you will only know by making a request. You can also access your hospital medical records if necessary.
I know from your previous post you are asking for an extension. If you are still struggling to get your evidence in time - just say on your form that more evidence will follow.

I was talking to a GP today who told me that, in her area, GPs won't do letters for the initial application, but they will once it gets to appeal stage. I hope that's true for my area too, as I've just been advised that I should file new medical evidence for our PIP appeal, and the GP is our only hope!
