Hi everyone. I am writing this on behalf of my husband who has rapid cycling bi-polar, a personality disorder and various physical ailments. The DWP gave him an indefinite award of DLA but then sent him a letter to apply for PIP. The deadline for the application was 5th sept but they sent him a letter on 26th aug saying we cant award you PIP and your DLA ends 10th sepyember.... Can they do this? Thank you for any advice you may be able to give particularly with regard to vulnerable claimants as he is so disabled he is exempt from paying council tax for the rest of his life as a reult! You really do need to ring the DWP and find out what is going on. I am assuming you did not send in his claim form before you received the letter on the 26th? When you find out why he has been refused then you can challenge the decision.
