Legacy Benefits advice please. was created by Jazz
Partner is on esa with SDP and pip high high and I am on UC assessment stage and pip high high we have just moved in together.

My partner is about to make a joint claim, should I withdraw my UC claim so that he still keeps his legacy benefits.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

One of you will need to close their claims, ESA or UC as there can only be one Income Related benefit claim in a couple.

I'm not sure your partner can be added to your UC claim as they are receiving the SD Premium but I am not 100% certain of this as it is a slightly unusual situation.

Your PIP awards are not a factor.

You should put your information into one of the online benefit calculators to understand what you would receive as a couple with both options.
