DLA to PIP time activity takes was created by wing
Hi Everybody
I’ve just joined BandW because I have to been invited apply for PIP after being on DLA for years. I’m a 69 year old pensioner by the way.
Have looked at your PIP guide for members and I am now attempting to
fill in the form!
Can anybody tell me if I have to put down the exact time each activity takes me? And if I don’t will this go against me!
Any help appreciated, thanks.

Hi Wing

I am not sure by what you mean 'Can anybody tell me if I have to put down the exact time each activity takes me?'
When completing the PIP form take your time to answer each question, use our guides to help you complete each question www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/pip

If you are running out of time then contact PIP helpline 0800 121 4433 and ask for an extension

Thanks for replying Gary.
The task has to be done in a reliable, safe, repeated and timely manner.
I have explained why I need help and assistance to do a task on some of the questions but do I have to say for instance
that the task would take me twice as long if I didn’t have help from another person or is it understood that I need help all the time. I put down I need help every day 7 days a week for some questions. Do you think this is good enough. Thanks.

Bear in mind that the PIP activities are discrete, so as an example; Washing and Bathing is something that you would be expected to do at the beginning of the day so it would only be time that you doing this that would be considered not the whole day.

Also, the test is whether you can complete the activity in less than twice the time that a healthy person would not how long it would take you with assistance so you may be doing yourself a disservice by using this comparison.
