Hi,

For the recording of WCAs do you advise that I request to use the audio recording equipment provided by the CHDA, or should I provide my own?

I ask as I have recently purchased two identical Sony portable cassette recorders, with external microphones, which I had planned on using to record a medical assessment at some point in the future. I have extensively tested both devices and they appear to work properly.

However, I appreciate that there is the option of requesting the CHDA provide its own equipment, but I have heard some horror stories of equipment not arriving in time, not being switched on by the assessor, or even malfunctioning during the assessment itself. I also appreciate that due to a shortage of said equipment, any such request to use it would likely delay my WCA by several weeks. This would not be the case if I provided my own.

Many thanks.

If you have the equipment already then it is probably advisable for you to record the assessment, as you say other members have reported problems with CHDA doing it.
